The Bodhi tree is the ancient sacred fig tree under which Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment.
The word bodhi refers to this state of being.
Birds enlightened us.
They shine the light for us to be mindful of nature as a source of awareness and highlight the necessity for our symbiotic relationship with nature. They convey the truth of our existence on the planet, it’s through birds we understand what we need. And what we do is dependent on examination of our ethical values.
Birds are crucial to the functioning of our ecosystem. They’re regarded as an ‘umbrella’ species which means our engagement of efforts for their protection of habitat ensures a positive effect for many others.
Thankfully, in every culture there is an allure for birds, an attraction to go outside into nature and admire their glory. Reflection breeds an awareness and enlightenment of their indispensable vitality.
My reflection of their inherent beauty serves to inspire Birds of Bodhi.
